Cycling West magazine logoDeer Valley Resort, home of great mountain biking and skiing, will be adding new mountain biking trails this summer. Gravity Logic, a bike resort development company, will be assessing the current trails system and looking for ways to improve it. Trail construction will begin in June and finish in mid-August.

A highlight of the planned expansion is a new intermediate flow trail running from Bald Mountain to Silver Lake. The four foot wide trail will be built by machine and feature a variety of berms, rollers, and jumps.

“Gravity Logic is known for having designed and built some of the planet’s most well-known, most-ridden and time-tested trails,” said Steve Graff, mountain bike manager for Deer Valley Resort. “We are excited to work with one of the most prominent designers in the world to create an even greater resort trail system that has more mass appeal for novice to expert bikers.”

Additionally, Deer Valley plans to work with the Mountain Trails Foundation to extend the Mid-Mountain Trail from Silver Lake to Deer Crest thus bypassing the climb from Silver Lake to Bald Eagle.

Deer Valley will be extending its summer season daily through Labor Day, and then on weekends through September 20, 2015. They will offer lift-serviced (as well as human powered) mountain biking from 10 am to 5 pm. Additionally, bike rentals, clinics, and tours will be available.
