July 6, 2015 –  Second Annual Cycling Race Features Kids, Families and Utah’s Top Amateur Riders

Press Release: FARMINGTON, Utah – June 19, 2015 — The second annual Station Park Criterium will take place Thursday, July 9, 2015. The full evening of family friendly activities starts at 5:30 p.m. with kids’ races provided by Farmington Festival Days, and continues with a kids bicycle safety rodeo sponsored by Team Intermountain LiVewell.

The centerpiece of the evening is the Station Park Criterium, with races for kids, families and Utah’s top amateur cyclists. The criterium is a timed lap race featuring fast, technical racing with tight corners requiring good bike handling skills. Criteriums are a crowd favorite due to the frequent action and multiple spectating vantage points. The course is in great condition with riders covering just under one kilometer per lap. 6:30 p.m.            C Flight – Men (Cat 4/5) & Women (Cat 3/4) – approximate circuit time 30 minutes

7:00 p.m.            B Flight – Men & Women (Cat 3/4) – approximate circuit time 45 minutes

7:30 p.m.            A Flight – Men & Women (Pro 1, 2 and 3) – approximate circuit time 60 minutes

The race is sanctioned by USA Cycling and is open to all riders offering three categories with an $800 cash purse plus prizes. A racing license is required and beginners can purchase a single day license for $10 at registration. Registration is just $35 until noon on July 8. www.stationparkcrit.com

The evening concludes with an award ceremony at 9 p.m. on at Station Park at Forbush Street by Chico’s and Perfumania with a street fair atmosphere. During the award ceremony, Loyal Cycle Co. will present two new bicycles to the Farmington Police Department bicycle patrol to support their community initiatives.
