March 18, 2017 – Cortlan Brown, Canyon Bicycles Pro Racing, soloed to an impressive win in the A flite of the Rocky Mountain Raceways weekly criterium series. The long running race series is a mainstay in the Utah scene, and one of key reasons that Utah has a large number of road racers per capita. Brown’s win was impressive in that the conditions were windblown, albeit sunny and mild.
In the B flite, Scott Powers, Zone 5 Racing, won a two-up sprint over Contender Bicycles rider Josh Bromley, with Zone 5 Racing speedster Taylor Edwards picking up the field sprint palmares in 3rd place.
In the C flite, Jim Jenkins of America First Credit Union Racing took the win.
And, in the Masters, Stephen Rogers, Zone 5 Racing, soloed in, with Nathan Barnes (Canyon Bicycles) and Andre Gonzales (Ski City) taking second and third respectively. Gonzales went after Rogers, and Barnes after Gonzales, all soloing in, with Barnes passing Gonzales at the end. Darin Boyd came in right on the heels of Gonzales in the field sprint.
Dianna Wright of Project Hero won the women’s event over Kelly McPherson (Zone 5).
