Little Cottonwood Canyon to Get Wider Paved Shoulders – Construction to Extend Through September 15

Construction update from UDOT:

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be performing shoulder widening on the eastbound lane of SR-210 (Little Cottonwood Canyon Rd) from Tanner Flats to the Peruvian Lodge. Elements of the construction include: installation of ATMS conduit, new pipe culvert, new guardrail, new signage, and new paved shoulder surface. This shoulder widening project will improve safety for cyclists and will continue upgrading communication connectivity up the canyon.

WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN?July 30 – September 15, 2012. Work will suspend for Labor Day, at 12 PM Friday, August 31, to 7 AM. Tuesday, September 4. · Construction hours: Monday – Thursday 7 AM -5 PM, Fridays 7 AM to 4 PM.

WHAT TO EXPECT?Work begins at Tanner’s Flat and moves eastbound toward Peruvian Lodge. · One lane of traffic will be maintained utilizing flaggers with no more than a 5-minute delay per each direction. · All lanes will be open during non-construction hours. · Resort and business accesses will be open at all times. · There will be temporary “No Parking” signs installed at trailheads and pullouts near the work zone.
