1999 Best All Around Rider

1999 All Around Team

Purpose:

1) To recognize the Best All Around Rider in each category

2) To recognize the Best All Around Team

3) To encourage competition and team work

4) To encourage teams to support all levels of riders

Eligibility:

1) Any individuals or clubs within our geographic area

2) Members and clubs are all eligible for points on the day membership is

processed and requirements are met

Categories That Must Be Run:

1) Sr. Men 1-2-3 * 5) Sr. Women 1-2-3

2) Sr. Men 4 -5 6) Sr. Women 4

3) Masters Men 35+/45+ 7) Jr. Women 18 and under

4) Jr. Men 18 and under

* A Series Races will run a separate Cat 3 field. (Promoter may request A

Series status based on previous Cat 3 field sizes.)

(Promoters may run additional noncompetitive classes as they deem necessary.)

Point Series Categories:

1) Sr. Men 1-2 * 6) Jr. Men 18 and under

2) Sr. Men 3 7) Sr. Women 1-2 *

3) Sr. Men 4-5 8) Sr. Women 3

4) Masters Men 35+ 9) Sr. Women 4

5) Masters Men 45+ 10) Jr. Women 18 and under

* Sr. Men Cat 3 and Sr. Women Cat 3, in other than A Series events, will

race with the Cat 1 and Cat 2's, but will be scored separately.

Points Breakdown:

1) Points are as follows in all categories for individuals:

1st - 15    7th - 6

2nd - 12    8th - 5

3rd - 10    9th - 4

4th - 9     10th - 3

5th - 8     11th - 2

6th - 7     12th - 1 (as well as all finishers)

2) Rider will score points only for the category in which they are

registered for that event

3) Stage race points are scored only for final GC and are worth double points

4) Points for Best All Around Team competition will be scored as follows:

1st - 3

2nd - 2

3rd - 1

(The top three finishes in each point category will score points for their

team.)

5) Special Situation - District Time Trial - points will be awarded as follows:

30 - 34 times will be placed within their respective UCA category

35 - 44 will be compiled into one category for points only

45+ points will be awarded on time placings

Events:

1) All events may qualify for UCA Point Series races

2) Only races with established Cat 3 fields may petition for A Series status

3) There may be up to three races in Southern Idaho which are could be

included in the Point Series

4) All district championships automatically qualify for A Series status

5) District Cyclocross Championship will count towards Best All Around

overall points

Rider and Club Responsibilities:

1) It is a rider's responsibility to ensure all license and association fees

are paid

2) It is a rider's responsibility to ensure correct category and club

affiliation is shown on their license

3) UCA will strictly adhere to the USAC license at the time points are

earned. If a change is made during the season in either category or club

affiliation, the UCA must be notified so that the changes can be made.

Points do not carryover in the case of category upgrades, but will remain in

the category they were scored in.
