Walker and Rollins Win Cyclocross 2012 National Championships; Walker Second in 2012 Worlds

The 2012 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships took place near Madison, Wisconsin in January. Nearly 150 of the country’s best 45-80 year-old cyclo-cross bike racers tackled the course at Badger Prairie Park on an unseasonably warm January day in Wisconsin. In the women’s 50-54 competition, the action came late in the race. Kris Walker (Pocatello, Idaho/The Contender Club) built a lead approaching 15 seconds heading into the last of the four-lap affair.

Utah and Idaho Fall in Bicycle Friendly State Rankings

As states, both Utah and Idaho leave a lot to be desired when it comes to bicycle friendliness. Both states got low or failing grades in most of the six subjects they were graded on by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB): legislation, policies & programs, infrastructure, education & encouragement, evaluation & planning and enforcement. Both states fell below average in the annual Bicycle Friendly America State rankings.
