The ideal candidate will possess exceptional mechanic skills across all levels and styles of bikes and will be able to enjoy interactions with consumers. Primary job duties include:

• Ability to work flexible full-time hours

• Complete a training program which involves in-store training as well as paid, internet-based training

• Ability to lead by example in terms of customer service, quality of work, workspace organization and cleanliness, on-going product and technology training, and working as part of a team

• Navigating all aspects of service department check-in and check-out, including timing and cost estimates, maintenance suggestions, add-on sales, and streamlining and improving existing processes

• Educate technicians regarding company, industry, and brand policy, programs and standards

• Monitor productivity and performance of technicians, work with store management to provide incentives and performance solutions

• Address any customer service and warranty issues

• Plan and/or lead special events or workshops in your tech center, for customers as well as for staff

• Manage service inventory in conjunction with store management, including ordering and cycle counting


The ideal candidate:

• Excellent bicycle mechanical skills required (minimum 1 year of hands-on, professional shop experience working on a wide variety of bicycles)

• Mechanic must be proficient in repairing new as well as older and vintage bicycles to the highest standard

• Is detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent organizational skills — systems oriented with high attention to detail

• Ability to work competently with computers, including Excel, Google Docs, and POS systems

• Has a passion for new and emerging technologies and understanding these developments

• Is capable of safely lifting and carrying 50lbs on a regular basis

• Is intrinsically motivated, able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Ensures cleanliness and monitors maintenance of facility then provides input to the Store Manager
