June 11, 2014 – Salt Lake County, Utah is beginning to develop an East-West Trail System Master Plan to connect the Jordan River Parkway with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail among other options. The focus is on off-road paved trails (pathways) for biking and walking. Connectors include City Creek to the Great Salt Lake, Decker Lake to MidValley, Cottonwood to Magna, Jordan to Copperton, and Draper to Herriman.

The project will identify preferred trail alignments for east-west connections. It will also identify barriers, rights of way, trailhead locations, and potential connections to Trax and FrontRunner.

There will be two public meetings:

June 11, 2014 at the  Sandy City Hall, Multipurpose Room, 10000 Centennial Pkwy, Sandy, UT 84070 from 6-8 pm.

June 18, 2014 at the Salt Lake County Government Center, Council Chambers, North Building, 2001 S. State Street, N1100, Salt Lake City, UT 84114 from 6-8 pm.

Salt Lake County has created a website with maps of preliminary alignments and corridors, and a questionairre and comment form.
